A Cauchy-Gaussian Quantum-Behaved Bat Algorithm Applied to Solve the Economic Load Dispatch Problem

In this paper, a novel Cauchy-Gaussian quantum-behaved bat algorithm (CGQBA) is applied to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) problem. The (BA) an acknowledged metaheuristic optimization owing its performance. However, classical BA presents some weaknesses, such as premature convergence. To withstand drawbacks of BA, quantum mechanics theories and Gaussian Cauchy operators are integrated into standard enhance effectiveness. Since nonlinear, complex constrained problem, main objective reduce total generation cost while matching equality inequality constraints system. validity CGQBA tested on six benchmark functions with different characteristics. numerical results indicate that effective superior many other algorithms. Moreover, ELD problems various test systems including 3,6,20, 40,110 160 implemented generating units. simulation illustrate strength compared algorithms recently reported in literature.
